Swift and simple preparation of estimates

packway

Start the estimating process from your Technical Datasheet

Our clients say “When preparing estimates, it’s challenging to remember to include every cost item for a job. When the customer needs a quick answer, there’s a risk we don’t dedicate enough time to this complex task and something gets missed.”
To prepare accurate estimates it’s essential the technical datasheet information is compiled correctly.

The technical datasheet gives an overview of the production workflow of a job and sets out the activities of the various production departments. The details specified in the technical datasheet are key to ensuring the smooth running of the entire company: from the automatic creation of a materials list for the purchasing department, to machine scheduling and production, right through to final shipping.

The estimate in graphic format

The graphical representation of the technical datasheet helps the estimator prepare the estimate. This application manages all the technical and commercial information relating to each individual item during the ordering phase, no matter how complex it is.

Being able to see the entire production process on one screen is useful when constructing an item. It’s it’s also extremely important to be able to act fast and be flexible when there are modifications, additions or changes to materials or semi-finished products, or alterations to the production process, or if the client requests changes to the job or quantities. All of these factors may have an impact on the estimating process.

Having an easy-to-use technical datasheet means with just one click you can see the current status of the job in your production department. This is particularly useful in situations where clients are producing anything from simple printed panels right through to display units.

Packway can manage products with multiple elements and different materials, and with different usage levels.
It’s the ideal product for businesses that specialise in personalisation and which cannot afford to waste time on planning and analysis

Equipment and machinery

Equipment such as offset, flexo and digital printing machines, cutting tables, braille printers, die cutters etc. are shown as grey rectangles.

Materials

Cardboard sheets or panels in greyboard or durable material are the first elements coloured yellow, orange or havana, along with accessory elements such as glues, packaging materials etc.

Processing steps

The processes and their progress are shown as green arrows

Work centres

Internal machinery, manual processes and outsourced activities.

Semi-finished products

Semi-finished products are shown as purple rectangles..

Finished product

The finished product is the last green rectangle: the result of the entire production process.

Swift estimating for each product

Choose the most suitable method for preparing your estimate based on the type of item you need to produce.

Simple and Repeat Items

When making corrugated cardboard boxes, simple die-cut items, cases, panels or cutout shapes, sales margins can be tight.
Swift turnaround times provide competitive edge and planning time is cut to the minimum.

What type of estimate to use?

Complex Articles and New Projects

When creating point of sale displays, boxes with multiple components and full POS outfitting kits and graphic, graphic and structural design become key to ensuring the margin is adjusted to the complexity of the object being estimated.

What type of estimates do you prepare?
ArtiosCAD & Packway integration

From structural design
straight to estimate

Once the project has been designed and information relating to its composition and structural design has been entered, you can also enter other data directly from ArtiosCAD relating to work centres, raw materials, subsequent processes and possible treatments. These will automatically be added to the technical datasheet to allow you to prepare your estimates more swiftly and easily.
